“Are we nearly there yet?”, I moaned as we trudged down the street. “Oh, stop your whinging!”, snapped my mother. I stared at her in disbelief. I was dying of starvation, how could she not understand? My stomach growled hungrily. I started picturing great big scoops of ice-cream, all different flavours, packets of thick crunchy chips, heaps of mashed potato. Large juicy burgers with lettuce and mustard, heaping portions of turkey, roast duck, chicken…” Ughhh”, I groaned. “Look, we’re here”, said Mother. I looked up. There, in front of us, was the glorious restaurant. “Yes”, I yelled as I jumped for joy.
