Why I’m always last
Every year, our school holds an annual sports day. We do relay races, wheelbarrow races, spud and sack races, you name it. But, then, at the very end of the day, we do a sprint. I always come last. It’s not because I’m slow, it’s just that something always goes wrong. For example, last year, my shoelace opened. I was in first place and wasn’t going to sacrifice that for safety. Bad idea. The year before, I decided to cut across the grass. The teacher gave me a long lecture about cheating, ultimately delaying me and putting me in last place. It’s always some unfortunate mishap like that. So that is why I’m always last.
