One Step Ahead
It was the 22nd of April 1916. Michael Collins had arrived in James Connolly's office; reporting for duty. He spotted an English soldier while observing the area around the GPO for any potential threats. Without thinking twice, Connolly saw this as an opportunity to capture an English soldier. Collins tried to warn him about there potentially being other soldiers but Connolly took no notice. He sent out three troops to capture the soldier, Collins persisted to warn him but Connolly still took no notice. An hour passed, and the troops were nowhere to be found. They had been ambushed! It was a setup, a trap! The English were one step ahead the whole time.
Collins thought to himself, "What if I was in charge?" he could've prevented this…
